Come Learn with Us!
At LaRica, we offer individualized instruction for horse and rider. We teach all levels and will move as fast, or slow, as the student wishes. We have students from leadline or first time riders all the way through students riding and competing at the National and World Level
For your budding equestrians:
Tiny Tot Lessons: $125 - 4 lessons/student (Lessons are scheduled weekly) These lessons can be private or semi-private (great for siblings!) and are ideal for children 5 and 6 year old who are horse crazy! Lessons will be a maximum of 1 hour long and include 10-15 minutes of preparation, 20-30 mins of riding, and 10-15 minutes of putting their horse away. A creative “homework” assignment will be given each lesson that will help reinforce what was worked on that day.
For your more serious Equestrians:
- Beginner Private Lessons: $200 - 4 lessons/student (Lessons are scheduled weekly) These lessons will last an hour and a half, at a maximum, including horse preparation and putting the horse away. Beginner private lessons are geared towards children ages 7 and up, teens, and adults. Each student will start with 15-20 minutes of preparation. This time include learning grooming, parts of the horse, and how to properly tack a horse. Students will have 30 minutes of riding time. Each rider will start in a hunt seat type of saddle. They will learn the basics of steering at the walk, trot, and canter as they are ready to progress. After riding, the student will learn to properly cool and put away their horse.
- Advanced Private Lessons: $200 - 4 lessons/student (Lessons are scheduled weekly) These lessons are geared towards students that already know the basics of horse riding. These students can ready and put away their horse themselves with minimal assistance. Students 12 and up who have already been through a basic program, and adults with previous riding experience will be best suited in these lessons. Lessons will have 45 mins of riding time and will focus on advancing the riders skills in the discipline of their choosing.

Not sure if you have an equestrian?
Compadres” Lessons: $100 - 4 lessons/student (Lessons are scheduled weekly) These lessons are for the horse crazy individual that isn’t interested in, or maybe isn’t able to do the riding but wants to be around the horse. Each lesson will last 30 minutes, during which time you will learn general care and upkeep of the horse, as the student is able. The course will include how to clean a stall, feed, halter, lead, and groom/bathe a horse. You’ll learn how to take a horse's temperature, heart rate, and respiration rate. Most of all, you’ll get to spend quality time with a listening ear. These lessons are private so individualized care can be given to each student. These are not “therapy”, but will hopefully help children and adults to connect with themselves and nature.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT LESSONS: If any lesson is missed without notice, the lesson is forfeited. If a lesson must be missed, 24 hour notice is required. A makeup lesson must be scheduled within a 2 week period.
